College Admissions Coaching
The process of collegiate arts admissions has become increasingly overwhelming and anxiety-provoking for young artists and their parents. We focus our college prep coaching on what is often lost in the stress: the joy in performance or creating, the freedom in finding programs that will nurture the artist within, and the importance of craft and skill-building.
We provide guidance and support for two distinct college admission journeys:
1.) In a more traditional sense, we specialize in working with students applying for the following programs: BFA Musical Theatre, BFA Acting, BM Music (i.e. contemporary vocal, music industry, singer-songwriter, or collaborative piano tracks), BFA Theatre Production/Design/Technology, or BA Theatre/Drama, English, Creative-Writing, or Liberal Arts tracks.
2.) We also work with students interested in discovering a more individualized collegiate route and in finding the degree program and options of majors and minors outside of the typical BFA umbrella that will allow them to nurture and develop all their academic and performance areas of interest. This collegiate route focuses on the development of the multi-hyphenate artist and often allows students to double major in other academic areas of interest outside of the arts.
Students will work directly with Spark Arts Consulting owners Casey and Trent on all facets of the college application and arts supplement process including:

College List Creation, specific to the exact interests and needs of the student and parents

Repertoire Selection and Prep (including professional piano tracks of all audition material) if applicable

Personal Statement and Supplemental Short Answers for the general application and supplemental application: Brainstorming, Writing, and Revision process

Pre-Screen Taping and Coaching if applicable

Portfolio or Performance Reel Development and Creation if applicable

In-Depth Strategy and Deadline Map for Application and Pre-Screen process, as well as subsequent live auditions and interviews

Live Audition Prep (including mindfulness meditation training to combat audition anxiety) if applicable
It is easy to lose perspective when in the midst of college admission stress, especially when applying for performance arts majors. We take particular care in cultivating perspective, gratitude, and focus on the best college for each student in the long term, both artistically and financially. We accept only ten students a year for college admissions coaching, ensuring individualized attention and training.
Admission journeys of past clients feature acceptances to colleges including:
